Ducted Heat Pumps

Ducted Heat Pump Installation.

A ducted heat pump uses your home's existing duct system, the same channels that carried air from your old furnace and AC. One install replaces both pieces of equipment with one heat pump that heats and cools through the vents you already have.

The Basics

What Is a Ducted Heat Pump?

A ducted heat pump pairs an outdoor unit (ODU) with an indoor air handler (IDU) that connects to your existing ductwork.

Same vents, same ducts, same thermostat location, just different equipment behind the scenes.

Because the ductwork is already in place, ducted installs are typically the fastest and least invasive type of heat pump upgrade.

Find Your Fit

Is a Ducted Heat Pump Right for Your Home?

Ducted is the most common path in Colorado, but it depends on what you have today.

Best For

If any of these sound like your home, ducted is the right path.

  • Existing ductwork from a furnace + A/C setup
  • Whole-house heating and cooling on one thermostat
  • Replacing an aging furnace and A/C together
  • Single-zone temperature preferences (one temperature for the whole house)
  • Hidden equipment: the outdoor unit and air handler tuck away cleanly

Not the Right Fit

If ducted isn't a fit, try these other options.

  • Homes without ductwork
  • Per-room temperature control
  • Adding heating or cooling to a single addition, garage, or sun-room
Try Ductless / Mini-Split

A vetted local crew arrives with everything the job needs. They protect your floors, remove the old equipment, set and connect the new system, and keep the work area clean from start to finish.

Commissioning the new system

Step 4: Commissioning

Commissioning, Walk-Through, Warranty

Before we leave, we test the system end to end, confirm it is running to spec, and walk you through how it works and who to call if anything is off. We file your manufacturer warranty registration for you.

What Homeowners Say About Their Ducted Install

โ€œHighly Recommend โ€” Honest, Professional, and Great Value. Zero Homes recently replaced my old furnace and AC with a heat pump and high-efficiency gas furnace. I worked with Conner on the initial quote โ€” he was incredibly honest, transparent, and took the time to walk me through multiple options, helping me understand the pros and cons of each. Their pricing was very competitive compared to other vendors.โ€
