Meet Shawn LeMons
Shawn LeMons leads industry engagement at Zero Homes, working on partnership and program strategy with the utilities, co-ops, and contractors that make all-electric homes possible across Colorado. His work centers on high-performance HVAC, building science, and scaling the transition to all-electric homes across utility and co-op partner territories.
He brings 28 years in the residential building industry, spanning small and large companies, non-profits, and volunteer work. He has held certifications as a LEED Green Rater, PHIUS+ Verifier, HERS Rater, BPI Professional, ICC Residential Energy Inspector, and Level 1 Thermographer, and holds a BS in Business from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Since 2009, he has personally completed analysis and advising on more than 8 million square feet of residential and commercial buildings.
"Part of my goal is to help people understand and apply simple yet effective ways to improve the performance of their homes. If we look at national total energy inputs and outputs, the US economy wastes twice as much energy as it uses. This ineffective use of resources is a tremendous opportunity for our nation and the world. With resilient, socially responsible, profitable thinking, we can live better lives with the resources we already have."
The full panel. Moderated by Robby Schwarz, founder of BUILDTank Inc., The Future of Sustainable Buildings also features Tara Stitzlein (CEO, CORE), Anita Seitz (Advocacy Director, Colorado Communities for Climate Action), Jenna Weatherred (VP of Member and Community Relations, Holy Cross Energy), and Dr. Martha Symko-Davies (Laboratory Program Manager, National Laboratory of the Rockies). Full bios are on CORE's event page.
